Brainstorm Blog #1

My brainstorming plan for project number one is to take my character the Bat Fairy Igni and place her in a mix of situations applicable to her backstory and preferences including interactions with other characters and placing emphasis on her size. As her character is a dark spooky bat type most of the works will be in darker tones contrasting the most likely colorful lively environment she is surrounded by. I also intend to make several tarot style pictures for Igni representing the cards of the Moon, the lovers, and the Queen of Wands. All of my reference material is most likely to come from Pinterest and I am excited for the illustrator portion of the project where we can transform our collage pieces into final works.

The plans for each individual piece include one depicting her interactions with the local Baker the composition of this depends on what images I find. I also plan to make a similar composition between her and the baker character for the lovers card but most likely less representational with a flatter composition. For the depiction of the Moon I really want to lean into the goth witchy aesthetic that a character based on a bat has, potentially depicting her flying in front of the moon or sitting on it / on Its reflection. One of the biggest challenges I foresee for each image is finding Dynamic representations of bat wings as I do not wish for every image to be similar to this first one I've prepared where they are flat and just spread out. I also intended to give igni wing tattoos so before I begin working on my final images I will need to draft cohesive design.
